Four Key Steps to Planning Corporate Culture Activities

Published: 2022-12-13

How do you plan a corporate culture activity that employees love and leaders are satisfied with? The following four key steps can serve as a reference.

Four Key Steps to Planning Corporate Culture Activities

1. Precise Theme and Creative Innovation

The theme is the first step in event planning. Planners need to gather information on industry characteristics, regional culture, and other relevant data based on the five elements of event background, purpose, target audience, objectives, and scale. They should then connect this with the corporate culture and brainstorm to refine a precise theme. Once the theme is set, develop three or four creative concepts to bring it to life. For example, when New Advantage planned a Party-building activity for Guiyang Rail Transit, they combined the Party-building purpose with the "Ecological Metro Culture" and organized an event in Zunyi themed "Red Pioneers, Heading to the Same Distance." Set against the backdrop of the Red Army's need for support during the Long March in 1935, participating teams completed tasks such as "Intelligence Transmission," "Raising Revolutionary Funds," "Visiting Revolutionary Sacred Sites," and "Rapid Advance on Loushan Pass." The precise theme and innovative creativity made the event a resounding success.

2. Emphasis on Execution and Details

After the creative proposal is approved, a detailed execution plan must be written, including event background, purpose, theme name, target audience, strategy, content, rules, organizational division of labor, process, material list, logistical support, implementation schedule, promotional plan, and cost budget. Every aspect should be clearly outlined, with a logical flow and clear assignments. Establish a good communication mechanism to ensure that planners and executors stay in touch and pay attention to details; otherwise, a small oversight, such as a typo in a PPT, can affect the overall tone.

3. Distinctive Packaging and Atmosphere

Under the premise of aligning with the theme, distinctive event packaging can create a strong atmosphere and attract participants to engage. Planners need to set a unified style for all materials involved, such as backgrounds, posters, prizes, attire, and game names. For instance, New Advantage planned the "Find the Reading Master – Three Kingdoms Battle" event for Chengdu Jiufang Shopping Center, dividing participants into three teams: Wei, Shu, and Wu. They provided battle robes, banners, and strategy pouches, with the ultimate prize being a "Jade Seal." The Three Kingdoms-style packaging quickly immersed everyone in the scenario.

4. Budget Mastery and Cost Control

The cost budget cannot be overlooked. Except for giant companies like Alibaba that can spend lavishly on their "Alibaba Annual Meeting," most corporate events have limited budgets. Planners should understand the budget range in advance and keep expenditures within it; otherwise, budget issues can directly veto the creative concept.
