Shandong Export Commodities (Thailand) Cloud Exhibition Held in Jinan

This afternoon, the Shandong Export Commodities (Thailand) Cloud Exhibition, hosted by the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, was held in Jinan.

The ongoing international pandemic has severely impacted international exchanges and cooperation, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises and foreign trade companies.

Shandong and Thailand have maintained close ties in multiple fields, particularly in food and agricultural products, agricultural machinery, and agricultural technology. At the end of May last year, the Shandong Brand Agricultural Products (Thailand) Exhibition was held concurrently with the Thai World Food Expo, achieving remarkable results.

Lv Wei, Deputy Director of the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, stated that due to the COVID-19 pandemic this year, we cannot meet as scheduled, but we have utilized the internet and video conferencing platforms to shift the Thai exhibition from offline to online, which is a beneficial attempt to innovate the economic and trade cooperation model between Shandong and Thailand.

This "cloud exhibition" is held in two sessions, covering food and agricultural products, agricultural machinery, daily necessities, and epidemic prevention materials. A total of 33 Thai buyers and 86 Shandong enterprises are participating, with over 120 "one-on-one" negotiation sessions arranged through preliminary matching.

Montri Pongpan, Chairman of the Asian International Trade and Investment Chamber of Commerce, stated that Shandong is not only a populous province in China but also a major agricultural and export province. They have held multiple matchmaking events in Thailand with the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, and Shandong's products are highly welcomed by Thai enterprises and consumers. They anticipate a strong rebound in Thai consumer spending after the pandemic and urge seizing the opportunity to purchase quality products at reasonable prices.

For this "cloud exhibition," the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, together with China Construction Bank Shandong Branch, provided value-added services such as online digital booths and live streaming displays for participating enterprises. We hope that Chinese and Thai exhibitors will seize the opportunity to fully communicate, reach cooperation, harvest friendship, achieve mutual benefit and win-win results, and promote the steady and long-term development of Shandong-Thailand economic and trade cooperation.

Feng Ruchen, Senior Deputy Manager of China Construction Bank Shandong Branch, stated that in the future, the bank will continue to leverage financial technology to support foreign trade enterprises in expanding markets, securing orders, and achieving stable development, fulfilling the responsibility of a major bank and playing an important role in stabilizing the fundamentals of foreign trade.

It is understood that the China Shandong Brand Agricultural Products (Thailand) Exhibition is planned to be held from September 22 to 26 at the Bangkok Convention and Exhibition Center in Thailand. This "cloud exhibition" will promote a good start for this year's economic and trade cooperation between Shandong and Thailand.
