The 6th World Internet Conference Concluded Successfully
After a three-day session, the 6th World Internet Conference concluded. During the conference, about 1,500 guests from 83 countries and regions gathered in Wuzhen to discuss the development of cyberspace, showcase innovative information technology achievements, and explore ways for open cooperation in cyberspace under the theme 'Intelligent Connectivity, Open Cooperation—Working Together to Build a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace'. This conference was pragmatic, efficient, and splendid, achieving a series of fruitful results in ideological exchange, theoretical innovation, technology showcase, and economic and trade cooperation, injecting new momentum and making new contributions to building a community with a shared future in cyberspace.
At the closing press conference, Liu Liehong, Deputy Director of the Cyberspace Administration of China, introduced that the 20 sub-forums set up at this conference not only focused on internet development trends, with special attention to frontier technologies such as artificial intelligence, 5G, and open-source chips, but also directly addressed challenges such as the digital divide, online protection of minors, and internet governance. The conference attracted about 1,500 domestic and international guests, with high specifications, diversity, and strong representation. Among the participants were over 20 foreign ministerial-level representatives, over 40 senior representatives from international organizations, and executives from dozens of globally renowned internet companies and numerous traditional industries and Fortune 500 companies.
In addition, more than ten inductees of the Internet Hall of Fame, 'fathers of the Internet', Turing Award winners, Nobel Prize in Economics laureates, as well as heads of important international think tanks and prominent public figures also attended.
