Tmall Double 11 Surprise Night Stage Design: A Creative Moving Maze Stage

Published: 2023-11-29

On the evening of November 10, Tmall Double 11 Surprise Night was broadcast live simultaneously on Hunan Satellite TV, Mango TV, and Taobao for 4 hours, pioneering a dual-screen, dual-mainline gala format that fully integrated the four main entities: the gala, e-commerce, streamers, and the audience. This article analyzes the design of this "moving maze" stage.

The stage featured a giant X-shaped platform that supported four moving towers, breaking away from traditional stage design. The four towers moved along tracks on the platform and eventually merged into a giant cube. Directly behind the stage was the official Tmall live-streaming room, shaped like a cat head. The exterior of the room was adorned with multiple layers of strobe lights, and using beams and bee-eye effects, a retractable cat-head-shaped three-in-one beam light rig and two cat-eye-structured LED moving heads were designed, bringing the Tmall mascot to life.
