Where Event Creativity Shines: Key Segments

Published: 2022-12-13

Which Segments of an Event Can Showcase Creativity?

1.1. Innovative Event Themes

For example, a themed warm-up activity is much more novel than a DIY or a traditional evening party. Even if you opt for a traditional gala, design a theme to wrap it in, such as ancient Chinese style, fairy tale, forest, or space themes. Then coordinate the performances and set design accordingly, and it instantly elevates the event.

Another example: a real estate client wanted a creative dance warm-up with a tech feel. In that case, consider recommending a 3D interactive dance, where the LED background changes with the dancer's steps and body movements. Such a cool opening is sure to outshine a simple dance.

1.2. Novel Performances: Two Aspects

1.2.1. Innovative Performance Formats

Think of the Spring Festival Gala, which showcases high-caliber performances and often includes novel acts. For instance, the shadow dance (by a Hungarian or Austrian troupe, I can't recall) and the holographic projection interactive video show (one year featuring Han Geng) have been on the Gala.

1.2.2. Original Performances

Specifically, customization. A common customization is sand art, which, despite being overused, is cost-effective and suitable for tight budgets. But we recommend acts with more wow factor.

Example: a real estate client needed robot interaction combined with performance and a tech feel. We recommended the NK01 robot, which excels at singing, dancing, and hosting. It also offers a unique VR perspective that broadcasts the performance from a first-person view on big screens or live streaming platforms, and it has performed alongside stars like Da Zhangwei and TFBoys.

1.3. Innovative Stage Design

In short, it's all about custom shapes: non-standard stages, backdrops, check-in areas, and entrance arches. Abandon the traditional truss and banner approach and go for fully customized shapes.

1.4. Creative Details: Some Ideas

1.4.1. Check-in

For a supplier appreciation dinner, we created a check-in with a "fish and water" theme: the backdrop was a large river, and guests signed on fish-shaped PVC boards, which we then attached to the backdrop. For a Chinese-style event, we handed out waist badges, had guests write their names, and then hung them on a hero board.

Of course, there are many tech-savvy check-in methods, such as facial recognition, WeChat check-in, and 3D surround photo check-in.

1.4.2. Launch Ceremonies or Similar Climactic Segments

This includes product reveals, event launches, lighting ceremonies, foundation laying, etc. The common thread is that once this segment concludes, the main event is essentially over.

This is a crucial creative point. For example, for a real estate client's renovation kickoff, we customized a launch prop with the event theme, covered in red cloth.

Helium balloons were tied to the red cloth. At the launch, leaders cut the balloon strings, and the balloons lifted the cloth into the air, revealing the theme. Besides traditional launches, you can also use WeChat to involve all guests in the launch.

1.4.3. Opening Performances

This is already covered in section 1.2 on novel performances, so no need to elaborate.

In summary, if you can innovate in all the above segments, you're already doing an outstanding job.
