Finally, I'm too exhausted to complain about Canton Tower as a venue. As someone who's been through it, let me give you all a heads-up to avoid the pitfalls!

Key Points to Note

Q: Two days before move-in, do you need to walk through all areas with the security team?

If you spot any scratches, take photos immediately and inform the venue staff to avoid fines.

Q: Two days before move-in, do you need to submit ID copies of all staff involved?

If you don't, you absolutely won't get in, because security will check IDs. Don't take chances—you won't be allowed in.

Q: Two days before move-in, do you need to submit vehicle information? What if the load exceeds 5 tons?

You'll have to unload 800 meters away and carry everything in. It's tough, but it's the only way.

Q: The second-floor platform at Canton Tower only allows 2 vehicles at a time. What about the others?

Wait—only after the first vehicles unload and leave can the next ones enter.

Q: What if the electrical load exceeds the limit?

The venue only provides two power boxes: one 60KW and one 50KW. If that's not enough, you'll have to revise your plan!

Q: What brand of cables should be used?

National standard cables are required, with a power rating 1.5 times the actual peak load, and every device must be properly grounded. The two-core cables used in exhibitions won't work here. I learned this firsthand: to run two 50-inch TVs, the venue required me to buy 4-square three-core cables, install a 32-amp leakage protector, and a distribution box. This standard is truly international.

Q: Does Canton Tower have dedicated electricians?

During regular working hours, the electricians are cooperative, but after hours... So power supply is usually arranged during the day. At night, you won't find anyone. I envy how electricians get off work on time—unlike us in this industry!

Q: Are there any venue restrictions?

The venue height is 6.6M, and the engineering department requires that the total height of lighting setups not exceed 4.5M. But that's nearly impossible. However, this can be negotiated if you discuss it in advance; otherwise, you'll have a bunch of security personnel warning you about the dangers on site.
