Four Key Steps in Planning Corporate Culture Activities

Published: 2022-12-13

How to plan a corporate culture activity that employees love and leaders are satisfied with? The following four key steps are worth referencing.

Four Key Steps in Planning Corporate Culture Activities

1. Precise Theme and Creative Innovation

The theme is the first step in event planning. Planners need to consider five elements: background, purpose, goals, target audience, and scale. Collect as much relevant information as possible, such as industry characteristics and regional culture, connect it effectively with the corporate culture, and refine a precise theme through brainstorming. After determining the theme, conceive three or four creative ideas to interpret it, forming the initial event concept. For example, when planning a Party-building activity for Guiyang Rail Transit, combining the purpose of Party-building and the company's 'Ecological Metro Culture', we organized an activity in Zunyi themed 'Red Pioneers, Heading to the Same Distance'. Using the 1935 Red Army Long March needing support as the background storyline, participants were divided into groups to complete challenges such as 'Message Delivery', 'Raising Revolutionary Funds', 'Visiting Revolutionary Sites', and 'Raid on Loushan Pass'. The precise theme and innovative creativity made the event a complete success.

2. Focus on Execution and Emphasize Details

After the creative plan is approved, a detailed execution plan must be written, including background, purpose, theme name, target audience, strategy, content, rules, organizational division, process, material list, logistics support, promotion plan, and budget. Every aspect must be clearly written, with a logical activity flow and clear division of responsibilities. Establish a good communication mechanism to keep planners and executors in constant contact, paying attention to details to avoid minor oversights like typos in PPTs that could affect the overall presentation.

3. Distinctive Packaging and Atmosphere Creation

Under the premise of conforming to the theme, distinctive packaging can create a strong atmosphere and attract participants to engage. Planners need to set a unified style for materials such as backgrounds, posters, prizes, attire, and game names. For example, in the 'Search for the Reading Master - Three Kingdoms Battle' event planned for Chengdu Jiufang Shopping Center, participants were divided into three teams: Wei, Shu, and Wu. They were equipped with battle robes, flags, and strategy pouches, and the grand prize was a 'Jade Seal'. The Three Kingdoms-style packaging quickly immersed everyone in the scenario.

4. Master the Budget and Control Costs

Budget is an indispensable part of event planning. Except for a few companies that can spend heavily on large events, most have limited budgets. Planners should know the budget range in advance and keep expenses within it; otherwise, budget issues may directly veto the creative idea.
